Nigeria, Sept. 11 -- Ten final-year students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Calabar, have received the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Student Hardship Grant for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Each beneficiary will receive £400, bringing the total value of the grant to £4,000.

The Head of the department, Dr Cordelia Omoyi, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria in Calabar on Friday, saying the beneficiaries were selected after a departmental review based on IMechE's eligibility criteria.

IMechE Omoyi said the IMechE Support Network had contacted the selected students and provided guidance on accessing their grants.
