Dhaka, Oct. 21 -- A young man named Abu Hanif was beaten to death by a group of local youths in Khanpur area of Narayanganj city over allegations of raping a teenage girl. The deceased, Hanif, was the son of Abul Kalam from Khontakata village in Bagerhat and worked as a caretaker at Itul Villa in Khanpur. According to Hanif's brother-in-law, Ibrahim, a group of local youths including a man named Abhi detained Hanif's sister and him earlier in the day. During that time, they were asking for Hanif's whereabouts. Later in the afternoon, after finding Hanif, they released the two but began brutally beating Hanif.
