Bangladesh, April 22 -- A court in Sirajganj issued an arrest warrant against Kushtia-3 Member of Parliament Mufti Amir Hamza.
The order was given on Tuesday after a hearing, over allegations that he made controversial remarks without evidence regarding the transfer of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Kushtia.
Earlier, on March 27, while speaking before the Friday sermon at Haripur Jame Mosque in Kushtia, Amir Hamza claimed that the current DC had spent around Tk 20-30 crore to secure the posting. A video of his remarks spread widely on social media, triggering nationwide controversy.
Following the incident, a legal notice was sent to the MP on April 13. The notice stated that such baseless remarks had damaged the image of the government...
