Dhaka, Aug. 26 -- Members of the local Nayan-Piyas gang have launched an ambush on a newly opened temporary police camp in Jamalpur village of Guagachia union in Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj. During this, there was heavy gunfire between the two sides. Later, the attackers fled after being unable to withstand the police resistance.
The incident took place on Monday after 5 pm in the valley of the Meghna River adjacent to the police camp in Jamalpur village of Guagachia union of the upazila.
According to eyewitnesses, members of the Nayan-Piyas group of pirates started practicing in the river adjacent to the temporary police camp after 5:00 pm on Monday with 5/6 engine-powered trawlers. They first exploded 4/5 cocktails near the camp.
