Dhaka, Oct. 17 -- Teachers and employees of MPO-listed educational institutions have postponed their planned "March to Jamuna", declaring that they will launch a hunger strike from 2pm on Friday if their demands remain unmet.
The announcement came from Principal Delwar Hossain Azizi, Member Secretary of the Alliance for Nationalisation of MPO-listed Education, at a press briefing held at the Central Shaheed Minar on Thursday evening.
Azizi said, "Several political leaders who have been in contact with us advised against the march, warning that it might lead to disorder and be exploited by opportunistic groups. Respecting their advice, we have decided to suspend the march for now."
