Dhaka, Aug. 8 -- BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is set to return to Bangladesh in December once the schedule for the upcoming national election is officially declared, the party's foreign affairs adviser Humayun Kabir confirmed while speaking to journalists in Sylhet on Thursday.
Kabir indicated that Tarique may contest multiple constituencies in the 13th parliamentary election and emphasized that preparations for his return, particularly concerning security, are being taken seriously.
He also disclosed that US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Tracey Ann Jacobson, met Tarique in London on July 13 in a closed-door meeting.
