Dhaka, Aug. 20 -- BNP Publicity Secretary Sultan Salahuddin Tuku on Wednesday urged the ruling quarters and vested interests to refrain from hatching conspiracies centering the upcoming national election, stating that the future of Bangladesh lies in democracy, not manipulation.
Speaking at a rally organized by the district unit of Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal at the Shaheed Minar premises in Tangail to mark its founding anniversary, Tuku said, "Even Sheikh Hasina once feared the people. Similarly, those involved in the genocide of 1971 are now conspiring over the elections, fearing the public verdict."
