Bangladesh, July 6 -- Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh Gabriel Maria Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru paid a courtesy call on Leader of the Opposition Shafiqur Rahman on Sunday at his office in the National Parliament, marking the first official interaction between the two since Shafiqur assumed the post.

The meeting touched on a wide range of bilateral and domestic issues, according to a press release from the Parliament Secretariat.

The two sides exchanged views on Bangladesh's overall political and economic situation following the national election and the recently passed national budget.
