Bangladesh, March 11 -- A tin-shed dwelling house belonging to a primary school teacher named Abu Saleh of Uttar-Tafalbari village within Southkhali Union under Sharankhola Upazila in Bagerhat district was completely gutted along with all its belongings when it caught fire on Sunday at around 11:30 am, according to a report received.

The fire loss is estimated at about Tk 6 to 7 lakh on primary assessment. It is stated that on the day, in the morning, the fire originated from the adjacent kitchen, spread to the dwelling house, and went out of control within moments. On seeing the flames, neighboring people rushed to the spot and tried to extinguish the fire, but for want of water in the adjacent ponds and canals, their efforts proved futil...
