Bangladesh, May 26 -- The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast continued rain and thunderstorms across large parts of the country over the next five days, raising the possibility of wet weather during the Eid-ul-Azha holiday.

Meteorologist Md Tariful Newaz Kabir on Monday said rainfall accompanied by gusty winds and lightning is likely to continue in several regions, bringing relief from the ongoing heatwave affecting different parts of the country.

The forecast said Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions are expected to experience widespread light to moderate rain or thunderstorms, with moderate to heavy rainfall possible in some areas.
