Dhaka, Oct. 24 -- The police have submitted an interim report to the court requesting the discharge of actor Iresh Zaker from the murder case of BNP activist Mahfuz Alam, who was shot dead in capital's Mirpur during last year's July Uprising.

Inspector Sajjad Roman, the investigation officer of the case from Mirpur Model Police Station, submitted the report before the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court on 9 October.Sources sad that police have also sought the discharge of Forethought PR Managing Director Ikram Moin Chowdhury in the same case.

According to the interim report, neither Iresh Zaker nor Ikram Moin Chowdhury were present at the scene. Police found no photos or video footage showing them at the shooting site.
