PM to address UNGA on 24 Sept
Bangladesh, Sept. 20 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will leave Dhaka for New York tomorrow to attend the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, where he is scheduled to deliver his first address to the General Assembly as prime minister on September 24.
The brief visit will include a series of bilateral meetings with world leaders and high-level engagements with senior officials of the United Nations and international organisations, according to diplomatic sources.
Tarique is scheduled to leave New York for Dhaka on the night of September 25. His delegation has also been kept relatively small for the visit.
The high-level general debate of the 81st UNGA will begin on September 22 and continue until September 28.
