Bangladesh, April 27 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has issued a series of firm directives aimed at strengthening fiscal discipline and accountability in government development projects.

According to State Minister for Planning, Zonayed Abdur Rahim Saki, the Prime Minister instructed that all proposed development initiatives must be carefully reviewed to ensure they are consistent with the government's election manifesto and broader development strategies focused on improving the welfare of the general public.

The remarks were made by the State Minister while speaking to reporters following a meeting of the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC), held at the Cabinet Division and chaired by the Prime Minister.
