Bangladesh, Aug. 8 -- Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed on Friday accused the banned Awami League of attempting to destabilise Bangladesh from abroad, asserting that the party had lost its political legitimacy and would not be allowed to regain a foothold in the country's political landscape.
Speaking to reporters after laying the foundation stone of the Cox's Bazar Medical College Hospital building, Salahuddin dismissed recent remarks attributed to ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina, saying the government no longer attached importance to such statements.
"What Hasina? Where did she speak? Has anyone even seen her? From time to time, only some voices are heard. They are trying to see whether they can create instability in Bangladesh.
