Dhaka, Oct. 17 -- Nepal has expressed interest in importing a larger volume of jute from Bangladesh, as its domestic jute mills rely heavily on Bangladeshi fibre, Nepal's Ambassador to Dhaka Ghanshyam Bhandari said today.

The ambassador made the request during a meeting with Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin at the commerce ministry in Dhaka.Bhandari noted that Nepal operates 11 jute mills, most of which depend on raw jute sourced from Bangladesh.
