Dhaka, Aug. 23 -- A delegation from the youth-led National Citizen Party (NCP) will travel to China later this month at the invitation of the Chinese government, marking the party's first high-level overseas political engagement.

Party officials confirmed on Friday that the eight-member team will be led by NCP convener Nahid Islam, who is scheduled to fly to Malaysia on Saturday before heading to Beijing. The China visit will take place from August 26 to 31.

Ahead of the trip, Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen met senior NCP leaders in Dhaka to discuss the programme.
