Bangladesh, May 25 -- Minister for Information and Broadcasting Zahir Uddin Swapan has expressed deep sympathy and solidarity with the people of Palestine. He reaffirmed Bangladesh's firm stance in support of Palestine.

The Information Minister made these remarks yesterday afternoon while addressing a film screening program on the 'Nakba' or 'Catastrophe' organized by the Palestinian Embassy in Dhaka. Palestinians commemorate the forced displacement of a vast number of Palestinians from the occupied Palestinian territories by Israel in 1948 as the "Nakba" or "Catastrophe."
