Dhaka, Oct. 15 -- One of India's greatest musicians is Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman. The voice and melody of this artiste, who grew up in Tamil Nadu, have repeatedly fascinated audiences around the world.
AR Rahman revealed why he wanted to cement his position in the Hindi film industry.
He focused on learning Hindi to avoid losing his reputation. He said, "I have a fascination for every language.
When my films 'Dil Se' and 'Roja' started doing well, people started discussing the translation of Tamil songs into Hindi.
This was very insulting to me. Some said that lyrics of Hindi songs are meaningless. Tamil is much better. People used to say, never do this kind of thing again."
