Bangladesh, June 14 -- The prices of gold in the local market of the country have been increased after four consecutive reductions, with the rate of 22-carat gold rising by Tk 6,590 per bhori.

With the latest adjustment, the price of 22-carat gold now stands at Tk 224,940 per bhori (11.664 grams), according to the BangladeshJewellers Association (BAJUS).

BAJUS said the revised prices took effect on Saturday, following a rise in the price of pure gold in the local market.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring, chaired by the committee chairman DrDewanAminul Islam Shahin, and was later announced through a press release.
