Dhaka, Aug. 17 -- The school grounds and classrooms of the government primary school in Khaulia Union unde Morelganj Upazila in Bagerhat district are being flooded twice a month. Students are in fear whenever the tide comes. Teachers, students and local guardians are demanding the construction of a cyclone shelter for the school.

It is known that the East Khaulia Government Primary School No. 125 in Khaulia Union of the Upazila was established in 1935, but the school building was built in 2000 with one floor and four rooms. Official activities are conducted in one room, while teaching is being conducted in the remaining three rooms. There are a total of 154 students.
