Dhaka, Dec. 27 -- A fire broke out at the Khaddar Bazar Shopping Complex in the capital's Gulistan area on Friday evening, causing heavy losses to goods stored in the building, though no casualties were reported.
The Fire Service and Civil Defence said the blaze started at around 5:28pm in a warehouse located on the roof of the eight-storey commercial building near Gulistan Zero Point. Firefighting units from Siddiq Bazar Fire Station reached the scene within minutes and began operations at 5:33pm. Initially, five units were deployed. As the fire intensified, additional units were sent in phases, bringing the total to nine.
