Dhaka, Aug. 19 -- The nomination process for the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections saw a surge on the final day as a large number of candidates submitted their papers, reflecting growing student interest in the upcoming polls. University election officials reported that Monday witnessed the highest number of submissions compared with previous days.

A total of 565 candidates have collected nomination forms for the DUCSU elections, the Chief Returning Officer announced at a press conference on Monday evening. The nomination process, which began on 12 August, concluded on Monday. Meanwhile, 1,226 nominations have been filed for the Hall Sangsad elections across the university's 18 residential halls.
