Bangladesh, April 22 -- Farida Khanam has been appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dhaka district, becoming the first woman to hold the post, reports Daily Sun.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification in this regard on Wednesday.
Farida Khanam is currently serving as a deputy secretary at the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
She will take charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Dhaka district in her new role. However, the Ministry of Public Administration has not yet announced the next posting of the incumbent DC.
