Dhaka, Aug. 9 -- A mobile court has seized various life-saving medicines worth over 4 lakh taka, including medicines expired 7 years ago, from a pharmacy in Sonaipul of Ramgarh Municipality in Khagrachhari.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Executive Magistrate Kazi Shamim conducted the operation on Friday.

The court fined the owner of the pharmacy named Janani Pharmacy, Nur Hossain, 50 thousand taka for keeping expired medicines.

The Executive Magistrate said that a huge amount of various life-saving medicines expired in 2018, 2020, 2022 and 2023 were found during the operation at the pharmacy. The value of the seized medicines is about 4 lakh taka.
