Dhaka, Nov. 11 -- At least 100 Bangladeshi workers, who were employed by various Malaysian companies, were rallied on Monday demanding unpaid wages, fair compensation and an end to alleged abuse by Malaysian employers.

The protest was organized by the Migrant Welfare Network, a Bangladeshi migrant organization operating in both Malaysia and Bangladesh, at the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment in Dhaka. The demonstrators said the protest aimed to draw attention to what they described as widespread mistreatment of migrant workers in Malaysia, one of Southeast Asia's wealthiest countries.
