Bangladesh, March 18 -- In Siddhirganj, Narayanganj, two transport companies have been fined a total of 8,500 taka for charging excess fares from passengers at Shimrail Mor and Kanchpur areas on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway.
The operation was conducted on Tuesday (March 17) at noon through a joint mobile court initiative by the district administration and RAB-11. The matter was confirmed by RAB-11 Company Commander Lieutenant Commander Naeem Ul Haque.
He stated that ahead of the holy Eid-ul-Fitr, complaints had spread on social media and in the news that long-distance passengers were being charged more than the government-fixed fare.
