Dhaka, Sept. 6 -- The government has made extensive arrangements to ensure peaceful observance of Eid-e-Miladunnabi, which will be commemorated across Bangladesh today with religious solemnity, marking both the birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).

Authorities have placed particular emphasis on smooth and secure congregations and processions in major cities including Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, Khulna and Rajshahi.

Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury directed law enforcement agencies to remain on high alert and ensure foolproof arrangements, especially at major mosques and religious venues where large gatherings are expected.
