DSCC starts drive in 75-ward to curb dengue
Bangladesh, Sept. 20 -- Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Saturday launched a special cleaning and mosquito-control drive simultaneously across all 75 wards as part of a three-month campaign to prevent dengue.
The weekly drive will continue every Saturday for the next three months under the supervision of DSCC's regional executive officers.
The campaign focuses on finding and destroying Aedes mosquito breeding sites, removing stagnant water and waste, intensifying mosquito-control measures and raising public awareness about dengue prevention.
Teams carried out operations across residential areas, roads, alleys, drains, canals, construction sites, parking areas, rooftops and abandoned structures in DSCC's 10 regions.
