Bangladesh, Sept. 29 -- A 12-day rainy-season survey of Aedes mosquito larvae has begun across Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) to identify breeding grounds and high-risk areas and strengthen data-driven measures to prevent dengue.
DSCC Administrator Freedom Fighter Md Abdus Salam formally inaugurated the survey at Nagar Bhaban on Monday. The fieldwork began informally on Sunday and will continue until October 8.
Under the initiative, scientific data will be collected from 2,250 households, with 30 randomly selected households in each of the city corporation's 75 wards.
The survey aims to determine the prevalence of mosquitoes and identify major sources of Aedes larvae across DSCC's 10 zones.
