Dhaka, Aug. 20 -- Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested a drug peddler and recovered 4,000 Yaba tablets from his possession in the Wari area of the capital last night.

The arrestee was identified as Md Tarek, 21, according to a press release signed by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of DMP.

Acting on a tip-off, the Illegal Weapons Recovery and Narcotics Control Team of the DB's Gulshan division conducted a raid in front of Kaptan Bazar Complex Bhaban-2 in Nababpur under Wari Police Station at around 11 pm and arrested the drug peddler along with the Yaba consignment, the release said.
