Bangladesh, Feb. 15 -- After 54 years, in the National Assembly elections in Faridpur-1 (Madhukhali-Boalmari and Alfadanga) constituency, Md. Ilias Molla, nominated by Jamaat, has been elected in the Awami League stronghold without Awami League after getting 154,145 votes. His nearest rival is BNP's Nasirul Islam, who won 126,476 votes and independent candidate Md. Basar Khan, who won 34,387 votes with the football symbol.
