Dhaka, Oct. 14 -- After a 20-year gap, Bangladesh and Pakistan will hold the 9th Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting in Dhaka on October 27. The talks will focus on strengthening basic economic cooperation, especially in trade, investment, agriculture, and financial services.
Finance Adviser Saleh Uddin Ahmed will lead Dhaka's side, while Pakistan's Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema will head the Pakistani delegation, Foreign Ministry and Pakistan High Commission to Bangladesh sources said.
The meeting comes as the two countries slowly revive diplomatic and economic ties after years of strained relations that began in 2009.
