Dhaka-Gopalganj train service launched
Bangladesh, Aug. 12 -- The first-ever commuter train service 'Abhijatri Commuter' between Dhaka and Gopalganj started operation from August 10.
Railway Minister Shaikh Rabiul Alam inaugurated the service at Dhaka Railway Station at 3:30 pm on Monday (August 10). State Minister for Railways Habibur Rashid, Railway Secretary Md Fahimul Islam, Bangladesh Railway Director General Md Afzal Hossain and senior officials of the ministry and Bangladesh Railway were present at the inauguration.
On its journey from Dhaka to Gopalganj, the train will stop at Keraniganj, Srinagar, Mawa, Shibchar, Bhanga Junction, Nagarkanda and Maheshpur stations.
