Bangladesh, July 23 -- The Dhaka district administration has introduced a lottery-based posting system for Union Parishad (UP) secretaries to ensure transparency, impartiality and accountability in the transfer process.
The lottery was held on Wednesday at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's Office under the initiative of Dhaka Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanom.
According to the district administration, there are 62 sanctioned posts of UP secretaries in 61 Union Parishads under five upazilas of Dhaka district. Of these, 57 secretaries are currently serving, while five posts remain vacant.
