Dhaka, Oct. 25 -- The dengue situation in Tangail district has become increasingly alarming. Sixteen new dengue patients have been admitted to Tangail General Hospital over the past three days. However, no fatalities have been reported so far.

Medicine specialistDr. A.Q. Mehedi Hasan Shawonsaid,"In the past three days, I have treated 16 dengue patients. Most of them are responding well to treatment, and no deaths have been recorded yet."

The office of the Civil Surgeon has instructed all hospitals to keep separate dengue wards and ensure blood testing facilities. Meanwhile, the district administration and municipality have launched mosquito-control and awareness drives, including fogging and cleanliness campaigns.
