Dhaka, Oct. 15 -- Health authorities on Tuesday reported five more dengue-related deaths and 841 new infections recorded in the past 24 hours, indicating that the mosquito-borne disease continues to spread across Bangladesh despite ongoing control measures.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), of the newly diagnosed patients, 125 were admitted in Barishal division, 106 in Chattogram, 214 in Dhaka division excluding the capital, 128 in areas under Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 173 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC). In addition, 26 cases were reported from Khulna division, 19 from Mymensingh, 47 from Rangpur, and three from Sylhet division.
