Dhaka, Aug. 14 -- Deepika Padukone had purchased the rights to the highly discussed Hollywood film The Intern. In 2021, the actress announced the Hindi remake of the film, which was supposed to be produced under her production banner, KA Productions. However, due to various reasons, the project was delayed.
The original The Intern, directed by Nancy Meyers and released in 2015, starred Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway in lead roles. In the Hindi remake, Amitabh Bachchan has been cast in the role originally played by De Niro, while Deepika was set to play the character portrayed by Hathaway, in addition to producing the film.
