Bangladesh, Nov. 3 -- The Ministry of Liberation War Affairs has directed the urgent reconstitution of relevant committees at upazila and metropolitan levels to ensure the smooth and transparent distribution of honorarium allowances to freedom fighters.

The directive was issued in a letter from the ministry's Welfare Wing-2 on November 1. The concerned deputy commissioners (DCs) and upazila nirbahi officers (UNOs) have been asked to take the necessary steps on a priority basis.

The letter said reconstituting field-level committees under different branches of the ministry had become necessary in line with directives from the Prime Minister's Office.
