Dhaka, Aug. 18 -- A colourful procession was held in Sylhet on Saturday on the occasion of Janmashtami, the auspicious appearance of Lord Krishna. Thousands of men and women devotees gathered in this procession, which started from the ISKCON temple. The procession created a unique spiritual and festive atmosphere by circumambulating the main roads of the city.After the procession, a kirtan mela was held from 12 noon to 4 pm. A grand inauguration ceremony and distribution of Anukalpa Prasad were organized from 7 pm to 10 pm.Before the procession, a discussion meeting was held under the chairmanship of Shrimat Bhakti Advaita Nabadwip Swami Maharaj, Vice President of ISKCON Bangladesh and Principal of ISKCON Sylhet Temple.
