Bangladesh, Sept. 17 -- The proposed price hike of bakery products, including biscuits and bread, has been put on hold for the time being following a meeting between the government and business leaders on Wednesday.
The decision was taken at a meeting held at the Ministry of Commerce with Commerce Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir in the chair, according to a media release.
The meeting discussed in detail the recent announcement by businesses to increase prices of bakery products and the costs involved in their production and marketing.
Representatives of relevant business organisations attended the meeting.
