Dhaka, Aug. 11 -- The Ministry of Railways has formed an investigation committee to verify the specifications of 30-metre gauge locomotive purchases for Bangladesh Railway (BR).
The committee will verify the draft specifications prepared, taking into account the performance of locomotives and components, modern technology, energy efficiency, availability of spare parts, international acceptance, usability in the environment of Bangladesh and so on and submit a report to the ministry within the next 15 working days.
Chief Adviser's Special Assistant for Road Transport and Bridges Ministry and Railways Ministry, Dr Sheikh Moinuddin, was made convener of the committee, while BR's additional director general was made member secretary.
