Dhaka, Oct. 19 -- Allegation of embezzling about Tk 1.21 crore from the funds of mosque and graveyard has been surfaced against the Awami League leader Motiur Rahman Sarker of Fazilnagor village in Ullapara upazila of Sirajganj district.
Meanwhile, several written complaints have been submitted to the UNO of Ullapara and Deputy Commissioner (DC) in Sirajganj demanding fair investigation and exemplary punishment against the money plunderer.
Besides, a case has been filed with Ullapara Police Station in this connection accusing Motiur Rahman and his eight other associates.
The complainants also urged the authorities concerned to take necessary initiatives to refund the money to the incumbent committee leaders.
