Bangladesh, July 2 -- As part of the expansion of the administrative structure, the National Implementation Committee on Administrative Reorganization (NIKAR) has approved the formation of three new upazilas and one new thana.

The decision was taken at NIKAR's 121st meeting held on Wednesday at the conference room of the Cabinet Division in the Secretariat. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman presided over the meeting.

The newly approved upazilas are Fatikchhari Uttar in Chittagong, Bangra in Cumilla, and Pagla in Mymensingh. Alongside this, approval has also been given for forming a new thana named Halda in Chittagong.
