Bangladesh, Sept. 17 -- A joint team of the district administration and fisheries department in a drive seized more than seven tonnes of banned African magur and fined a fish farmer Taka 20,000 for cultivating the fish in Chanchra Sabjibag area of the district town on Wednesday.

Executive Magistrate Bishal Kumar Jajodia conducted the mobile court and fined fish farmer Shafiqul Islam.

Upazila Fisheries Officer Ripon Kumar Ghosh said the drive was conducted after receiving information that banned African magur was being cultivated in the Chanchra Sabjibag area, reports BSS.
