Bangladesh, May 24 -- A total of 48 Bangladeshi cricketers have registered for the upcoming player draft of the Lanka Premier League (LPL), scheduled to be held on June 1.

The tournament is returning to the draft system this season after conducting player auctions over the previous two editions. According to Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), more than 650 cricketers from 21 countries have registered for the draft.

SLC has not yet disclosed the names of the Bangladeshi players who entered into the draft.

However, defending champions Jaffna Kings have confirmed through the social media handle that they picked up Bangladesh pacer Taskin Ahmed as direct signing for the upcoming season.
