Dhaka, Aug. 13 -- In a late-night operation on Tuesday, the army arrested 34 people, including Tangail Sadar Upazila BNP president Azgar Ali, from multiple clubs on Victoria Road in Tangail city for allegedly participating in illegal gambling activities.

During the raid, gambling equipment and cash amounting to approximately Tk 1.5 lakh were seized. The detainees were handed over to the police and later produced before court around noon on Wednesday.
