Bangladesh, Aug. 11 -- The price of a 12kg liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder used for cooking has been increased by Tk 70 to Tk 1,598.
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) announced the revised price on Sunday, August 2, saying it would take effect from 6pm the same day. The previous price of a 12kg cylinder was Tk 1,528.
BERC has fixed the retail price of privately marketed LPG at Tk 133.15 per kilogram, taking international market prices into consideration.
Along with cylinder LPG, the prices of reticulated LPG and autogas have also increased. Private reticulated LPG supplied to households in liquid form will now cost Tk 129.40 per kilogram, while LPG supplied in gaseous form has been fixed at Tk 28.75 per litre. The...
