Bangladesh, Oct. 29 -- Irene Zubaida Khan, Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador has urged the globe that human rights be integrated into the core of economic policy and governance frameworks.

"Economic progress should be measured not merely by growth but also by its contribution to equality, human dignity and the realisation of fundamental rights," she stressed that during a high-level dialogue titled "The Political Economy of Human Rights" at the UN Headquarters on Tuesday.

Irene Khan also said, "Equitable taxation, affordable development financing, debt sustainability and reforms the needful to the international financial architecture."
