Dhaka, Sept. 15 -- Renowned folk singer Farida Parveen passed away on Saturday night after a long illness. As soon as the news of her death spread, singer Kanak Chapa rushed to the hospital that night. There, she remembered the late singer and expressed deep sorrow and regret.
Kanak Chapa said, "Farida Parveen Apa took away the entire space that Lalongeeti had created with her popularity. Those who used to listen to Lalongeeti, used to listen to Farida Apa. Basically, the songs of those who sing in Lalon's Akhra are one thing, and Farida Apa's songs are another."
