New Delhi, May 12 -- The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday announced the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 examination conducted on May 3, citing findings received from central agencies regarding alleged irregularities in the examination process.

In an official statement, the NTA said that after examining inputs shared by law enforcement agencies and central authorities, it was decided that the present examination process could not be allowed to stand in the interest of transparency and credibility of the national examination system.

The Agency stated that the decision was taken with the approval of the Government of India and a fresh examination will now be conducted on dates to be notified separately.
